Devlog 3 - Concept art progress
















Greetings!
Load of art this month- some I forgot that's been done a little while ago.
There isn't a whole lot for me to add to this post as most of it is visual and quite self explanatory. The majority of these characters are "bachelors", or what we call in our production "companions".
To differentiate: In games such as Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon, games which Starlite takes a lot of inspiration from, the "romanceable" characters are there to date, and marry. In the former example, the only character you can have as a sort of platonic roommate is the little creature Krobus.
I thought it could be cool to have the option of just having someone live with you. Not necessarily marry them- but have them move in with you, help you around your farm to help around ( and give the player an incentive to even *interact* with the other villagers ) Of course, the option to romance and marry them exists as well, but this just adds an extra layer that I think could be really cool. Plus, it gives options to the people who don't exactly play these types of games just to romance an NPC!
Once all of the Companions have their looks and feels locked in, we'll work on having a "meet the companions" type of posts. Unsure if that should be here, or maybe on instagram or youtube. Or maybe all 3? Who knows.
